BEATH High School's inaugural Radio Broadcasting NPA students, made their debut at Glasgow’s BBC Studios!

The tour began with some secrets behind radio drama, which brought out a few giggles.

They were shown the broadcasting area for the election results show which was broadcast on the night of December 12, as well as the behind the scenes control room.

The Beath team agreed it was like looking at the NASA launch control!

Said one of the Beath party: "Mr Carmichael and Mr McBryde took us on a whistle top tour of the various studios and the students were most impressed with the area that ‘Mrs Brown’s Boys’ is filmed in.

"As the tour continued we met reporters John Beattie and Anne Marie Watson, who allowed us into their radio studio as they were preparing to go on air.

"The highlight of the tour, was the Reporting Scotland studio.

"We all had turns at being news presenters, sports presenters and weather reporters! Heather and Judith – watch out! The Beath presenters are coming for your jobs!"

Overall the learners had a great few hours in the BBC Studios with access to all areas. It has inspired them with their own radio broadcasting and in the completion of their very first programme.
