AS the New Year begins Beath High School have put in place several new initiatives to ensure pupils can have an equitable start to their school day.

The school management and staff want every pupil to have what they need in order to go to school and take part in the learning and teaching taking place.

Beath High School is proud to announce the creation of an Eco-wardrobe in school.

It was recognised that there is so much waste with some young people only wearing something for a few weeks and then growing out of it.

The Eco-wardrobe addresses this and allows pupils to approach Mrs Meikle, or any of the appointed Equity Captains, and get whatever uniform they need whilst also doing their part for saving the environment.

The school would like to let parents and carers know that they have this facility now in place.

Said Mrs Meikle: "We have also rolled out 'ready for school' boxes which include ties, pencils, home economic tubs, cereal bars and sanitary products.

"This is to enable every pupil in registration to get what they need in order to start the day with no worries.

"Our pupils deserve to come to school and enjoy the learning and teaching taking place without worrying about what they need for the day ahead".
