THE weather was almost perfect for the 2020 Splash for Cash yesterday.

There were over 40 splashers who took to the loch at Lochore Meadows Country Park in the Benarty Fundraisers venture.

They included people of all ages and one of those taking part was new MP for Kirkcaldy and Cowdenbeath, Neale Hanvey, who found it an unbelievable experience.

The area at the park's Watersports Centre was thronged with supporters for the splashers who hit the water just after noon it provided a brilliant community day at the park as the Fundraisers' kitty for good causes was again boosted by the efforts of people of all ages who wanted to get 2020 started by hitting the loch on a relatively mild day, although the strong breeze took the edge off the temperature.

Neale Hanvey found it a different but exhilarating way to start a new year and said on Facebook: "To celebrate New Year I was delighted to join the folk of Benarty to Splash 4 Cash to raise funds for local support.

"What a brilliant event with fantastic people. Huge thanks to James Fotheringham, Gordon Mackie, all the organisers, supporters and ambulance staff for doing all the hard work to make today happen.

"Well done Benarty community for pulling together for this worthy cause".
