CROSSHILL woman Nikki Slater was absolutely delighted with the support the Benarty Community Santa Appeal had in 2019.

Nikki took on the task to arrange the appeal this year, which over the past four years has ensured that children in Benarty will not wake up on Christmas morning without a present to open.

She was overwhelmed by the generosity of the village communities, who all made huge contributions to the number of gifts that were able to be distributed and also to two local radio stations for their support.

Nikki said: "I can not thank the community, along with Kingdom FM and Forth One for the amazing donations we received from their appeals, there are a lot of lucky kids out there who received gifts thanks to the combined contributions!

"Also huge thank-you to Lorna and Charlotte for their help when it was needed and shopping to help those little kids.

"A huge thank-you to everyone who kept me right on my journey and when questions needed asked, James Fotheringham, Hannah Kinnaird and Tom Kinnaird for their advice plus a huge thank-you to Tom for collecting the Forth One pressies".

Nikki added that the local schools had also been very supportive and she thanked them and added: "Thank-you must also go to BRAG for allowing me to use there business centre, not only for donations to be dropped off, but to also keep and store them. Also thanks to everyone who offered to help do wrapping, I kinda just went with it and before I know it it was done!

"I can't thank my partner enough for supporting me through all this, the mess of the house, the stress of me missing something, he has been amazing.

"I hope all those children who received a gift from our appeal had a magical Christmas along with everyone else in this amazing community. This place is really is home and I must say that I'm so proud to live here".
