A BURST water main in Benarty on Thursday posed problems for families on Boxing Day.
Water supplies became scarce in Glencraig and Lochore for a spell but Scottish Water were soon on the scene and managed to carry out repairs eventually bringing supplies back to normal, but not before discolouration caused a lot of issues for some users.
The situation led to a number of posts on the Benarty Matters Facebook page including this one: "Ma water's broon in Lochore."
Another stated: "I’m in Crosshill and I have hot and cold running dirty water,"
and there was also this comment: "Been in same situation myself on occasion and it is a pain in the backside, but unfortunately with a burst water main they don't have time to warn people that the water is going off!"
Supplies were restored by the early evening.
