A MAN involved in a police chase in Lochgelly has been placed on a tag and will have to sit the extended test to get his licence back.

Colin Bonnar, 40, of Martin Crescent, Ballingry, appeared for sentencing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court on Wednesday.

He had previously admitted that on November 19 on the B9149, Lochgelly, The Avenue, South Street, Erskine Street, Paul Street, Bank Street, Landale Street, David Street and Buller Street, all Lochgelly, he failed to stop when required to do so by police officers.

He dangerously accelerated harshly, drove at excessive speed, crossed into the opposing carriageway, overtook into the path of oncoming vehicles causing them to take evasive action, caused the car to skid and collide with a kerb and a parked car, failed to stop at junctions and failed to obey a red light signal and give way signs.

The incident where he collided with a parked car caused considerable commotion in the street where it happened.

Sheriff Alastair Brown placed Bonnar on a restriction of liberty order for four months and banned him from driving for two years. He will also have to pass the extended driving test before getting his licence back.
