THE benefits of Cardenden Events Committee’s fundraising over the year could be seen on Thursday when dozens of primary school children from the village had a fantastic Christmas Party at the Bowhill Hotel.

Through the work of CEC it was a totally free evening for the kids who enjoyed a dancing competition with some great prizes to be won.

The music was provided by Stevie the Music Man and the youngsters responded by showing plenty of fantastic footwork.

The organising committee also provided juice, crisps and sausage rolls which were enjoyed by the youngsters and at the end of the party each of them was presented with a selection box by Santa Claus.

Chairperson of the Events Committee, Alex Burns MBE, said: “What a tremendous evening and it is excellent to see the primary children benefitting from the generosity of the public who support our various fundraising events.

“We would also like to express our gratitude to Alex and Jane Lithgow of the Bowhill Hotel for use of the attractive large hall for the event.

“Also Councillor Linda Erskine for all of her assistance and last but not least, committee members Jamie, John, Mary, Val and Lilly for their excellent contribution.”
