LOCHORE Meadows Country Park will be packed with Santas tomorrow!

Back by popular demand the organisers of 2018 Loch Leven Santa Run are hosting the Lochore Santa Festival on Sunday at the country park as there is not enough room at Loch Leven for the number of people wanting to take part.

Said organiser Rory Young: "Due to the increased capacity of the event, and a third race being added, we have had to move location to Lochore Meadows.

"The event has fully sold out with the oldest entrant being 72 and the youngest being 0!

"The closest person taking part will be from Lochore with the furthest away being from New Zealand, so it will be a great day."

The 2019 will see three event distances to choose from – 7.5km, 5km and 2.5km.

The 7.5K will be starting at 10.00am with the 5k and 2.5K shortly after. All entrants will receive a Santa suit upon registration at Lochore Meadows. One of Santas elf’s will start the race and set all "Santas ” off together.

The 2.5K loop will take in part of the loch then return back through the trees to the start/finish line. A 5K loop takes in the whole loch with the 7.5K loop doing the 2.5K followed by the 5 in a continuous circuit.

Added Rory: "To get 500 Santas entering is brilliant and I'm led to believe it is one of the biggest events of its type in this part of Scotland".
