A POSTMAN has been disqualified from holding a licence after driving the wrong way on a roundabout just off the A92.

Glenn Fotheringham, 37, of Viewfield Terrace, Lumphinnans, appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court for sentencing.

He previously admitted that on October 20, on the B9149, at the junction with the A92, and nearby roads, he drove a car dangerously and did cause said car to drive around a roundabout in the wrong direction causing an oncoming vehicle to take evasive action to avoid a collision.

Depute fiscal, Azrah Yousaf, explained that the accused was seen coming off the A92 on to the slip road of the B9149 to Lochgelly and when he approached the roundabout and went the wrong way round.

One vehicle had to take evasive action so they wouldn't crash.

Footage on a dash cam caught the dangerous driving.

Defence solicitor, Ian Beatson, said he thought his client was annoyed that he had been cut up.

"It was a very stupid action on his part," Mr Beatson said.

"He is appearing as a first time offender at the moment he does not know whether he will be able to keep his job."

Fotheringham was ordered to complete 135 hours of unpaid work and was disqualified from driving for two years.
