FRIDAY saw the return of a very special guest Santa Claus and his reindeer to the Benarty area!

Santa’s parade departed from Crosshill and made his way through the Benarty villages to his destination at the Benarty Centre in Ballingry's Flockhouse Avenue.

The Benarty Events Group put out a call for volunteers and once again weren’t let down by the public. Like every other year the streets were full of people to see the parade.

Santa and his reindeer led the parade and at the back were Santa’s Elves with their own big sledge from where they handed out glow sticks to the children to further brighten up things.

The Parade arrived at The Benarty Centre and Santa went to his Grotto to begin his duties of handing out his gifts to all the children present.

“The Benarty Events Group try to create memories for the children who attend our events. It doesn’t matter where the children come from they are made welcome,” said BEG chairman Eddie Easson .

At the Centre there was an array of activities for everyone present. The main event at the Centre was Roller Skating Rink in the main marquee with the silent disco.

On stage was Lochgelly High School Pipe Band followed by Sarah Hendrie’s Highland Dancers. Next up on stage was the Brillant Zodiac Dance Troupe.

The Super Heroes made a spectacular entrance that had the children star struck. Last but not least was the brilliant songstress Dion Hickey. There was also a selection of funfair rides and bouncy castles to keep the children occupied.

On Saturday it The Benarty Events Group Christmas Fayre at the Centre. Once again Santa and his elves put in an appearance. As always there was a good selection stalls from the local groups.

Like each year BEG also organised the Panto trip for all Primary School children. The younger kids enjoyed the Panto in The Centre.

The Benarty Events Group would like to thank the following organisations and people for their support, Lochore Welfare J.F.C., for the use of their building for the parade, the staff and management at The Benarty Centre. The police for marshalling the parade and the tenants in Flockhouse Avenue for keeping the street clear. Finally all the people that gave up their time to make these events possible.
