THE second senior citizens festive day held by Crossgates Community Council was an unqualified success.

Held at Lodge St John 540’s hall more than 70 veterans from Crossgates and Mossgreen enjoyed a fine seasonal meal and entertainment.

The Christmas Party was sold out weeks in advance after the success of last year’s inaugural event.

Community Council treasurer John Wylie said: “We are very grateful to the support we have received for this event from Lodge St John, Fife Council; and Asda.

“There was a fantastic turn out who really enjoyed the day which ran from 1pm to 6pm.

“Last year’s first event was encouraging and this year’s was even better and it is something we will want to keep going.”

There was a raffle held to support the village’s Christmas Lights fund for 2020 and it raised the amazing sum of £540 which the community council was delighted about.
