GIVING false details to the police after being stopped proved costly for one Cowdenbeath man this week.
Brian Duncan, 38, of High Street, appeared for sentencing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court on Wednesday.
He had previously admitted that on February 27 on the B981 Crossgates to Inverkeithing road, he drove while only having a provisional licence, without L plates and while he was not accompanied by a qualified driver.
He also drove without insurance and attempted to pervert the course of justice when he pretended to police that he was another man to avoid detection and arrest
Sheriff Kevin Veal fined Duncan a total of £400 and issued him with six penalty points.
