A MAJOR travel industry award has been won by a Cowdenbeath business.
High Street business, Moorelands Travel, won the Agent Recognition Award 2019 Gold Medal and Travel 2 Agency of the Year for Scotland, Ireland and the Isle of Man.
In the highly competitive field the Cowdenbeath business pipped a whole host of well known organisations.
Mooreland’s Scott Paterson went to the awards evening at the weekend to collect the award and is pictured receiving the accolade.
Mooreland’s Marie Shevas said: “This is a prestigious award for us as we beat all the top agents in the luxury, long haul market.”
At the end of the summer the staff at Cowdenbeath Travel Agency had a very hectic spell when the Thomas Cook Travel Company collapsed and staff ended up working long hours to try and find alternative holidays for the hundreds of customers affected by the situation and in the main succeeded.
