THE fundraising event held by Kelty's North Road Garage for the Dunfermline Food Bank organisation was a massive success.

The dinner event, held at Dunfermline's Garvock House Hotel, saw over £3,000 realised which will also help the Cowdenbeath and Benarty Food Banks which are co-ordinated by the DFB.

The North Road Garage is a great supporter of all the three local food banks and will be a collection point for people to drop off items between now and Christmas.

North Road's Claire Campbell said: "It was a lovely night at the Garvock House with over 150 people attending.

"There were some excellent donations from the business community and the turn out was tremendous.

"We cannot thank everyone enough who contributed to the success of the event."

Added Claire: "A massive thank-you has to go to everyone who attended and donated in aid of Dunfermline Food Bank - we managed to raise an amazing £3,137!

"We would like to thank everyone at the North Road Garage who took part, Ivan Wood & Sons, Campbells Prime Meat Ltd, The Chair Cover Hire Company Scotland, Booker Cash And Carry, Webster Adventures, Mark Murphy & Partner Ltd, Dunfermline Athletic FC, Puddledub, Fish @ Lochleven, the Royal Bengal Restaurant Dunfermline, The Artful Bear, Stephen's Bakers, Inverarity Morton, Kelty Hearts FC, Cluny Activities, and Dingbro Dunfermline."

Claire went on to say that a large collection box has been placed at the North Road Garage reception area so people can place items of food in which can be given to the central food bank store which can boost supplies on the run up to Christmas.

"This can be a difficult time of year for so many people and if we can do anything to help it will be worth it," she said.

"It does not have to be garage customers, anyone who wants to make a donation just needs to pop in and place it in the container."
