THE English Department were totally thrilled this term to find that five of the learners have won prizes in the Sense Scotland Sci-Fi writing competition.

Learners from all year groups had worked hard in the weeks leading up to the end of the summer term in June to develop their skills in writing about aliens, space ships and far flung galaxies, so the department’s teachers were delighted that the hard work of the pupils had been recognised.

The talented team of winners were Morgan Wells (S2), Katie Donaldson (S3), Greg Falls (S4), Even Hamilton (S5) and Zoe Kirk (S6).

Rector Debbie Aitken and Miss Olivia Porteous from the English Department, were delighted to congratulate the S2-S5 winners and also wished Zoe, who has now left school, every success.
