THE Kelty and District Loving Hands Group's quality work was praised by MSP Annabelle Ewing. .
Ms Ewing visited the Group to see them at work in the Community Centre and said: "It is was real pleasure to pop in to the Loving Hands Group in Kelty.
"This organisation began in Kelty in August 2007 and now there are over twenty groups in Scotland, England, Wales and North Ireland – a bit of Fife kindness that has spread throughout the UK.
“The Loving Hands Group brings together those who can knit, crochet or sew to produce a wide range of items which are then donated to a huge and diverse range of good causes.
“For example, hats for The Mission to Seafarers; hats and blankets for premature babies; ‘twiddlemuffs’ and aprons for those suffering from confusion or dementia, heart pillows to provide comfort and support to patients following a lumpectomy or mastectomy; blankets for memory boxes for bereaved parents, and many more."
The MSP added: “The group meet every Monday from 12.30 to 14.45 in the Kelty Community Centre and are always looking for new members and for donations of old duvet covers and other cotton goods.
“If you can knit, sew or crochet, this really is a fantastic way to use your skills in a very convivial environment with a great bunch of talented and generous women.”
