LOCHGELLY High School pupils and staff were delighted to be able to reveal that the Station Road school has launched their brand new booklet about Positive Mental Health.

The booklet was launched on Wednesday night and will be distributed around the community.

The booklet contains loads of useful information about the vitally important issue of mental health in young people, information about what the school is doing to support pupils and contact details of organisations who can help.

Said a member of staff involved in the event: “The initial idea for our booklet about positive mental health came from pupils and staff discussing these issues and identifying a need for some clear, concise information about mental health for young people and their parents and carers.

“It was important to us that all the contents were totally relevant for young people and their families and so pupils and staff were asked to contribute ideas and give their opinions at different stages of the development of the booklet.

“The result is something that we are extremely proud of and something we hope will become a very useful resource for our families and the wider LHS community.

More details of the launch event will follow over the next few weeks through letters, Groupcall texts, social media and press articles.

As well as the launch of the booklet itself there was a guest speaker and a range of information stalls where people could pick up extra information or meet representatives from charities and local organisations who support young people.

It was a good and informative event and people were able to get a lot of information which can help them.
