A HORRIBLE injury caused by a chain saw Cowdenbeath wing-back Fraser Mullen miss Saturday's William Hill Scottish Cup replay at Broxburn.

Fraser was at home cutting up logs with a power saw for use in a log burner when an accident occurred.

The left arm of his jersey caught in the saw and this pulled his arm into the teeth of the machine.

Said club director David Allan: "It cut deep into his forearm and gouged a large wound as well as severing tendons.

"Fraser was rushed to hospital and following surgery the wound was repaired and the tendons, etc. were reconnected.

"Initially there were concerns re a lack of movement in his thumb and forefinger but he now has some movement once again.

"His arm has now been put in a plaster cast and he was able to attend Saturday’s match at Broxburn as a spectator but he wished he could have been put on the park helping his team mates."

He has been signed off work for six weeks at this point in time. It’s a major blow to Fraser and Cowden as he has been in excellent form this season – indeed he is the club’s top scorer due to his expertise from the penalty spot and has been voted man of the match in three out of the last four games at Central Park.
