COWDENBEATH Rotary Club and local schools, Beath High and Lochgelly High, are committed to ensuring youngsters from this area are given the chance to get the RYLA experience.
Thursday's meeting of the club heard that youth promoter, Gerry Grieve, had been at both schools and they were keen to ensure that a pupil from each would have the opportunity to follow the 2019 participants, Jessica Mcgrath and Nicole Young, in attending the 2020 Rotary Youth Leadership Award camp.
Gerry told members: "I met with staff at Beath and Lochgelly Highs and the commitment is there from both to get candidates for next year's RYLA.
"The youngsters who come to speak to us after their week at the camp certainly talk of how their confidence levels get a boost from their experience and the commitment is there to have candidates to take part in the 2020 summer event."
He added that there had also been a commitment from both schools to encourage pupils to take part in the Young Writer and Young Photographer competitions.
