A TIMES reader has observed one or two problems being created by the sequence of the new traffic lights at the North End retail park in Cowdenbeath.

The lights on High Street, Perth Road, Foulford Road and the retail park, are helping improve the flow of traffic up High Street, but our observer said this week: "The new traffic lights at the site where the North End retail park is, with the new B&M and Lidl stores, are causing massive confusion, and I fear if it isn't fixed there is going to be an accident.

"I stood and watched the changing of the lights for about 15 minutes this week and was shocked at what I saw."

He added: "You will rarely hear the blaring of car horns in Cowdenbeath, but this has changed.

"Drivers are unsure of the right of way on this junction causing impatience for other drivers.

"The major problem seems to be the lights from the retail park and Foulford Road both being green at the same time.

"I suggest it would be common sense that this problem is looked at from the appropriate people before someone gets hurt.

"It is a dangerous situation just now, this will be even more of a hazard when the Lidl store opens in the new year.

"One last thing, there were seven people that I counted debating the situation in the retail park car park!"
