THE long awaited planning permission for the proposed Multi Use Games Area at Wallsgreen Park, Cardenden, has been welcomed by the village community council.
The plans for the MUGA, on a site south of the Bowling Club, in Wallsgreen Park, were on hold while concerns over the drainage of the site were looked at.
Said Cardenden Community Council secretary, David Taylor: “Planners were concerned that the area of Wallsgreen chosen for the MUGA could flood but they have now been assured that this is unlikely.
“The long awaited facility will be a welcome addition to the park and will have provision for games such as five-a-side football, basketball and tennis.
“It is hoped that the application will soon be approved and construction can go ahead.”
