A WEAPON was brandished during a neighbourhood dispute in Cowdenbeath.

The incident led to two men facing a jury trial at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

During the course of the trial both men submitted guilty pleas.

In the dock were Michael Lister, 32, now of Warout Brae, Glenrothes, and David Brown, 29, of Queens Crescent, Markinch.

They admitted that they behaved in a threatening or abusive manner, brandished a weapon and shouted and swore in an aggressive manner on October 18 last year at Blamey Crescent, Cowdenbeath.

Brown also admitted that he made a threatening remark towards a woman.

Sheriff Craig McSherry sentenced Lister to complete a community payback order with 100 hours of unpaid work.

Brown also was placed on a community payback order with 100 hours of unpaid work and ordered to pay £300 compensation.
