A 58-YEAR-OLD Lochgelly man has admitted a benefits scam which brought him £5,000 he was not entitled to receive.
Peter Dougal, of High Street said he was not receiving a pension when in fact he was and the deception lasted for more than two years.
As a result, Dougal appeared in the dock at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
He admitted that between April 13, 2014, and October 9, 2016, he knowingly made a false statement to officials of the Department for Work and Pensions in an application for ESA that he was not in receipt of any pension when he was and fraudulently obtained £5,000.
Sheriff Charles MacNair called for reports and Dougal will be sentenced on November 6.
