KELTY based MSP Alex Rowley returned to his old primary school, St Joseph’s, in the village this week and was quizzed by pupils on a range of issues including Brexit, the working of the Scottish Parliament and the Kelty Hearts football team!

Speaking afterword’s Mr Rowley said: “I have to confess I did not know exactly how many MSPs there are in the Parliament so that was one up for the P7 pupils who all knew it is 129!

"And, given no one knows what is happening about Brexit I got away with that one!

"The pupils had done their homework and were amazingly knowledgeable about the Parliament and politics which is good for democracy moving forward. Like me, many are Kelty Hearts fans so we also had a good chat about the progress of the team!”

He added: “It was great returning to my primary school and meeting the P7 pupils. Their teacher and school can be very proud of the pupils' approach to learning more about the workings of our democracy, they were just great!”
