LOCHGELLY Community Christmas Lights Committee will be out on the streets next Thursday and Friday holding a collection to help fund the 2019 festive lights display.

Every year it costs a minimum of £7,000 to light up Lochgelly at Christmas time and the volunteers, and the ladies of the town's Development Forum, are busy ensuring that they are heading towards the necessary total.

Said a spokesperson for the Lights Committee: "I can hear the groans, what already? But we are fundraising all the year round to have the display between November and January.

"Look out for us on the street on Thursday and Friday, we even could have Santa hats and Christmas jumpers on.

"Some of us will be outside the Community Shop in Bank Street, and weather permitting, we will have a table with decorations for sale.

"Can I add that the shop has a sale on with ladies tops, dresses and trousers for £1 and children's clothing reduced to half price. It's well worth looking in to grab a bargain."
