A LOCHGELLY man has been jailed after a sheriff stressed that the public should be protected from his violent behaviour.

Alexander Harrower, 47, of Paul Street, Lochgelly, was jailed for 130 days.

He previously admitted that on July 7, at Bank Street, Lochgelly, he assaulted a male by punching and kicking him repeatedly on the head and body.

He also assaulted a female by punching and kicking her repeatedly on the head and body, and committed this offence while on bail.

Sheriff James McDonald told the court that this had been Harrower's sixth conviction for violence and previous orders that he had placed on him had done nothing to deter him from his behaviour.
