COWDENBEATH councillor Darren Watt was full of praise for the way the town's first ever 5K run was organised.
Councillor Watt was one of the 200+ participants and said after the race: "The route was incredibly challenging but thankfully the weather was on our side.
"Huge credit must go to those who took part in the event, it's an incredible personal achievement for everyone and they should all be very proud of themselves and I must also congratulate everyone involved in making this event a success."
He added: "Dozens of volunteers dedicated a lot of hours over the last few months and they too should be proud of their extraordinary efforts. "Furthermore, as a local representative, it was incredibly encouraging to see many local groups and individuals working together for the town. They helped create a new milestone in Cowdenbeath's history and hopefully this type of event will be the first of many." See also pages 20 and 21.
