A WOMAN was cut free from her vehicle after an accident on the B920 on Friday evening.

The woman had to to be cut free from the vehicle by fire crews from Lochgelly called to the scene after being alerted at 7.15pm to the incident involving two vehicles on the B920 Lochleven Road, running through Benarty.

A spokeswoman for Scottish Fire & Rescue, reported: “When crews arrived at the scene a female was found to be trapped in one of the vehicles.

“A plan was formulated to free the driver by removing the roof using specialist cutting equipment.

“It’s understood injuries to the driver are thought to be minor and not life threatening.”

The road was closed for a spell to assist fire crews deal with the incident.
