WHEN Liam Nardone first started doing shows, he came into the Central Fife Times office in Lochgelly and asked if we could help publicise his events, writes Kerry Black.

Since then I have had the very great privilege of attending and reviewing all his shows. Each one just gets bigger and better.

This time they have spread their wings, moving from their spiritual home in the Lochgelly Centre, to the vast stage of Dunfermline’s Alhambra Theatre to stage their most ambitious show yet, the sparkling Legally Blonde.

In order to fill the stage, they hired the amazing set and costumes from the original West End production, to add even more class to their finest show yet.

From the start, Liam has utilised great local talent and it was fabulous to see Courtney Bryson, complete with blonde makeover, taking centre stage as Elle, the spurned girlfriend of Warner (Dylan Weatherup, who also featured in the hilarious “Gay or European” number), who decides to leave her shiny pink sorority behind for a new career in law in the hope that he will take her back.

Courtney was fabulous in the role and deserves a special award as Queen of the Quick Change too!

En route to her law career, Elle is supported by three great friends, played by Freya Riley with great vocal support from Brooke MacDonald and Tegan White, as they and the entire cast strutted their stuff to numbers like “Bend and Snap” and “Omigod You Guys”.

While Harry Donaldson showed off his impressive vocal talents as law student Emmett, Cole McLaren played the utterly sleazy law professor in a scene stealing role!

Emily Juner excelled as Paulette, Elle’s hairdresser and chief confidante, who finds love comes inside a UPS package (a comical cameo role for Liam Nardone himself).

With a full band in the pit headed up by musical director, Gregor Satti, this was a very slick production!

If you’ve never seen the show, it’s packed with bounce and sass and great choreography from Liam. It even has dogs!

NAPA (Nardone’s Academy of Performing Arts) gave us an evening oozing with romance, humour and hilarity. The audiences absolutely loved it. OMG what a show you guys!

Look out for Sleeping Beauty, their panto which will be staged in the Lochgelly Centre from December 17 to 19.
