TRAIN services have started again after an incident concerning the welfare of a man caused the Forth Bridge to close for several hours.

British Transport Police have now confirmed that the person has since been "removed from harm's way" and is being taken to a place of safety.

They were called to the bridge at 10.01am.

Scotrail has confirmed that the first service for Fife was the 14.23 service from Edinburgh Waverley to Cowdenbeath.

Replacement buses had been organised while the incident is ongoing.

The Times understands a train had to stop on the bridge and a cruise ship was stopped from moving under the bridge while emergency services dealt with the incident.
