A CALLOUS robbery took place in Cowdenbeath on Monday with a senior citizen being robbed of a significant amount of money.
Two men called at a house in Gilmour Street on Monday afternoon and said they would carry out gardening work for a woman.
They were paid £100 in advance but no work was done and later the lady discovered that a three figure sum had been taken from her home.
The bogus gardeners were described as being both white, of slim build, and aged between 20 and 40 years-old. One had short fair/blond hair and grey trousers and the other was wearing dark clothing.
The pair were travelling in a white Ford Transit van. Anyone who may have seen anything suspicious on Monday in Gilmour Street or knows anything about the incident are asked to call the police on 101.
