LOCAL pipers were to the fore at the World Pipe Band Championships.
Lochgelly HS Pipe Band finished their 2019 Competition Season at the RSPBA World Championships which were held in Glasgow.
They were placed 5th overall in The Novice Juvenile Grade and were also awarded RSPBA Champion of Champion's 2019 for the Novice Juvenile Grade.
This award recognises the most successful band throughout the Championship contests with the Band Winning the British Championships, The United Kingdom Championships, and also placed 4th at the European Championships. The Band will also be awarded the RSPBA Branch Champion of Champion's award winning contests throughout the year at Dundee, Markinch and Lochore.
The band's mentor at Lochgelly High, Tom Brown, was delighted with the performances this summer and said: "They have done themselves proud and have had a very good season."
Straight back from the World Championships the LHS band was also performing on Sunday August 18 and led the Lochgelly Gala Day Parade.
