JOHNSTON Park residents, in Cowdenbeath, are being urged to attend a meeting at the Maxwell Centre on Tuesday night which will look at resolving the problem of unadopted roads and pavements in the estate.

Area Community Manager, Kevin Sayer, wrote to residents stating: "Much of the roadway and paths around Johnston Park have never been adopted and remain the responsibility of Fife Housing Association and home owners to maintain.

"However, councillors have agreed to allocate £22,000, from the council's devolved budget, to unadopted roads over the next two years to meet a significant part of the cost of bringing the roads and paths up to a standard that would allow the council to adopt them. The cost to home owners would be around £600. The meeting will look to explore if this is acceptable and a ballot of owners will follow."

Local councillor Darren Watt said: "This has been ongoing for years. I would urge residents to get along to the meeting at 7pm on Tuesday."
