CARDENDEN Village Fair Committee are excited this year as they look forward to this year bringing people another fantastic day out at Wallsgreen Park.

Always looking for ways to expand on the events they can bring to the public with the wonderful crafters, charitable causes and local community groups they decided this year to take on a theme – ‘Mental Health Awareness’.

Secretary, Janet Ann Archdale, said there will be information from Dementia Friendly Fife, LINK Befrienders East Fife, Scottish Autism, with leaflets provided by Fife NHS Information & Resources Department.

Janet commented: "The weather had us on our toes last year, but we did manage to show up the following weekend, but with a slightly lighter programme. So, here we are trying again.

"We are delighted to announce Fife Mobile Museum (MAC Bus), has a new theme, “Pilgrim Express” celebrating the Fife Pilgrim way with a chance to make your own badge and dress up as a medieval pilgrim.

"Remus Equestrian will join us with pony rides and Alba Falconry are providing photo opportunities holding one of their beautiful birds of prey.

"We have expanded the fairground show rides with Gavin Stirling this year, adding more for our older attendees. Also new to us will be ‘Go Kart Party’, an exciting new company who organise children’s birthday parties and they will be bringing along carts so you can enjoy a ride. Other new entertainments will be Easton Airsoft & Training and the Kirkcaldy Air Cadets".

The centre area will feature the Suzette Twirlers, Bowhill Karate Club, Kirkcaldy Pipe Band with Sarah Hendry’s Highland Dancers. Remus Equestrian will also put on a small show.

New demonstrations will be provided by Templehall United FC juniors (Age 6-7), the Malone Dance Company, and possibly Lomond Colts FC (age 12).

Between performances they will run the popular children’s races with many thanks going to local undertaker John Gilfillan who puts things together.

There will also be face painting by Angela’s Squiggly Faces, and Exquisitely Beauty’ful will provide glitter tattoos and Henna. There will be tasty treats from the food vendors and enough for everyone for a great day out!

Cardenden Village Fair is sponsored by, Ore Valley Housing, Bowhill Community Centre, The Corrie Centre, Mr Dowie, Cowdenbeath Rotary Club and Ventient Westfield Cardenden Community Fund administered by Foundation Scotland. Thank you goes from all the committee and the community for making this special day possible.
