COWDENBEATH Environment Group felt the town was looking as good as it ever has for the the visit of the Beautiful Fife Judges at the end of July.
The Enviro Group had done a lot of hard work to prepare the town for the judges' visit and they welcomed the efforts of the general public and volunteers.
Said a member of the Environmental Group: "The Beautiful Fife judging day has come and gone and things were looking pretty good.
"Again we had marvellous weather for the judges' visit .
"I honestly don't think I have seen the town looking so smart, tidy and litter free.
"Also there was additional floral enhancement lighting up the High Street and beyond."
He added: "We would just like to offer sincere thanks to all the volunteers over the past year.
"And especially for all donations of assistance and otherwise, plus we would like to give a huge pat on the back to all the guys from Fife Council's Parks and Open Spaces section, and also to the litter squads who have all worked diligently these past weeks".
The judges will give their decision in a few weeks time and the Environmental Group is hoping that gold status might come to Cowdenbeath.
