VILLAGE community group, Crossgates Village Park (CVP), has been developing a set of proposals for the future of School View and Humbug Park.

The information gathered as part of this process will be used by CVP to decide on any develop future plans.

The consultation will run from the end of June to September 30 and participants can contribute in a variety of ways.

Crossgates Village Park has been in discussions with the local community and Fife Council about acquiring a 40 year lease for School View and Humbug Parks.

They are of the opinion that the village deserves better facilities than it currently has and these two areas would be ideal for enhancing what is avaialble.

Humbug Park, and next door School View, are sizeable areas and of course East of Scotland Premier League side Crossgates Primrose play at Humbug.

Gary Daniell, the council's Community Development Team Manager, said “This an opportunity for the people of Crossgates to share their views on the proposals for the park.

"We’re keen to hear from as many people as possible to get a more rounded view and we’d encourage all residents to take part. We’re running this consultation over a long period of time to maximise the number of people, of all ages, taking part.

“At the end of the consultation period, we’ll produce a report on the findings which will help inform any future decisions about park.”

The kind of facilities that are being considered include, for the short and long term, pathways, play park facilities, a community pavilion, community growing area, dog exercise area and much more depending what the community says in the forthcoming consultation.
