A LOCHGELLY businessman has admitted being involved in drug dealing.
Dean Farrell, 34, of High Street, appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
He admitted that on July 26, 2017 at his home he was concerned in the supply of a controlled drug, cannabis resin.
Depute fiscal Dev Kapadia said that during a police search drugs worth £2,460 were found.
A large amount of cash was also found in an extractor fan in his kitchen.
In total, £7,065 in cash was recovered from the property along with scales, a grinder and other drugs paraphernalia.
The court was told Farrell claimed the drugs were for use by himself and his acquaintances.
He also claimed the money was for his roofing business as he had just made a large withdrawal from a bank and it was his practice to pay employees in cash.
Sheriff Charles MacNair said if that was Farrell’s position he would have to prove it.
He commented: “On the face of it, the idea that this was just him and a few friends is not one that is likely to be accepted. If this true he will have to prove it.”
He called for the Crown and defence to see if they can come to an agreed position about what actually took place before sentencing.
Otherwise a proof in mitigation would have to take place, he added.
Bail was continued and Farrell will be sentenced on July 22.
