Nardone's Academy of Performing Arts celebrate their second anniversary with a 'Work of Art' a showcase at Lochgelly Centre on Thursday.

It's a production with hits from Abba's Mamma Mia, Dolly Parton's 9 to 5 and a huge mash up of modern and old time classics.

The cast have worked on this show for just over a month and are thrilled to be performing at the Lochgelly Centre, back to where it all began just two years ago.

Nardone’s Academy of Performing Arts, otherwise known as Lochgelly Youth, have now stormed their way through five musical productions including Hairspray, Fame, One Night Only, The Addams Family and Jack and the Beanstalk.

Work of Art will be their sixth show and next up they'll be performing Legally Blonde at the Alhambra Theatre in Dunfermline – with more top shows to follow.

Managing director Liam Nardone said: "I have had the privilege of seeing all the kids and young people who have taken part in the academy grow and jump from strength to strength.

"The confidence boost and knowledge and understanding astounds me!

"I love working within our community in the performing arts industry but the thing I loved most when I walk through the academy’s doors is seeing the smiles and energy the young people bring into our studios."

They offer vocational training in all three disciplines of musical theatre, dance, singing and acting.

The academy also have dance classes all week and summer projects.

Liam added: "If you don’t already know about our classes and summer school, check us out now on our Facebook page or look on our website at nardonesacademyofperformingarts.co.uk. Please do not hesitate to get in touch."

He said they had faced many challenges over the past two years and added that their journey has been "extraordinary", from a shared church space to now having a fully equipped studio space of their own.

Liam said: "To be honest it’s all a bit overwhelming.

"We will continue to aim for a higher cloud as every new production approaches and already our future productions are in place: Sleeping Beauty, 9 to 5, Bring it On and Snow White, all on stage at the Lochgelly Centre."

Work of Art, a night of musical madness, starts at 7pm. Tickets cost £10 and ar available from the Lochgelly Centre on 01592 583303.
