THE B981 between Cardenden and Cluny will be closed due to roadworks for up to three weeks.

Fife Council will be carrying out carriageway resurfacing on the stretch between Sunnyside Road and Woodland Gait from Monday June 24.

Councillor Altany Craik, convener of the economy, tourism, strategic planning and transportation committee, said: “We apologise for any inconvenience and delay caused by these essential works, and we will try to keep any disturbance to a minimum.

"Your patience and co-operation during this time is greatly appreciated.”

To carry out the works safely the road will be closed from Monday June 24 until complete.

A diversion will be in place directing traffic via the B921, Bowhill and Kinglassie and the B922.

Access for emergency services will be maintained at all times.

Cllr Craik concluded: “We maintain over 2,400 km of roads in Fife.

"Our road network is vital to support economic development, inward investment, tourism, leisure and travel to work.
