CLOUDY skies and a hint of rain in the air did not put off the intrepid wanderers of Lochgelly's Sunflower Family Nurture Centre.

The children at the Sunflower took part in a Sponsored Walk to raise money for three local charities; SAMH, Macmillan Cancer Support and Fife Gingerbread.

Said the Sunflower's Senior Early Years Officer Laura Robertson: "All three charities have supported the families of Sunflower over the years in different ways and so we were delighted to be able to support them through our fundraiser.

"The local community and our families were extremely supportive which resulted in us raising £1,500 for these charities. We welcomed Linsey from Fife Gingerbread and Gayle from SAMH into Sunflower to collect their cheques from the children.

"We would like to thank Fife Cycle Park who allowed us to use the track for our sponsored walk. The children all completed the one mile walk and had great fun along the way regardless of the weather!"
