TWO highly successful voluntary groups have been backed by Awards For All.

Benarty Events Group, and Kelty based Kingdom Brass Band, each received £10,000 from the National Lottery.

An Awards for All spokesperson said: "Benarty Events Group will use the funding to organise the fifth Benarty gala day on June 30.

"Meanwhile Kingdom Brass will use the funding to buy a range of new equipment which will allow them to expand their membership.

“This is National Lottery money in action, reaching into communities across Scotland, making a real difference to the people who live there.

"The 203 groups receiving funding showcase the great work that community groups up and down the country are doing by creating safe environments where people can come together to take part in a range of activities and make new friends".

Benarty Events Group are looking for another highly successful Gala Day on Sunday 30th at Lochore Meadows Country Park.

Last year they had a record turn out of more than 8,000 people at the Meedies on a beautiful day and they are hoping to match that this gala day.

Kingdom Brass recently completed a Community Access Transfer which saw them get the use of the former Kelty Library as their base.

It has opened the door for the highly successful brass band to encourage more young people to take up playing brass instruments and the £10,000 award will give them the chance to purchase new instruments.
