ANDREW Lloyd Webber wrote to LADAMA to wish them all the best with their production of his hit show Evita, well had he been able to see the 2019 Lochgelly Musical he certainly would not have been disappointed.

The cast, under the direction of Malky Burnett and choreographer Clare Stewart, responded superbly to what is a really exacting show and was in fact the first that LADAMA had staged based on a true story.

Leads are important in any production and in Evita the roles of Eva Peron, Juan Peron and Che Guevara are key and in Fiona MacKenzie (Eva), David Mutch (Juan) and Che Guevara (Mark Grieve) Lochgelly and District Amateur Musical Association came up with three artistes who were superb in every one of the five performances.

Putting on such a famous show saw LADAMA the first Fife company to tackle Evita and the audiences turned up in superb numbers.

Lochgelly Centre Theatre was busy for every show and box office supremo Joyce Goodall was very pleased with the ticket sales.

Now show can succeed without good orchestral backing and under the direction of Suzanne Stewart the elevated 18 person combination were superb and literally played their part in the magnificent success.

What does LADAMA have in mind for 2020? That will be announced over the next couple of months.
