THE 2019 Jim McLure Memorial Art competition certainly showed that there is some amazing talent among the children at Kelty's primary schools, Kelty PS and St Joseph's.

The imagination used by the children was displayed at the Kelty Art Club exhibition on Saturday after Friday night's awards presentation evening held at the community centre.

Jim McLure, a founder member of the group, which was set up ion 2015, died a year later and such was his influence on encouraging people to express their talents, as Club secretary Syd Reeve said during the evening that 'he would have been delighted to see the creations of such young artists.'

Syd reflected: "Judging has been quite a challenge with so many high quality entries from the youngsters of Kelty PS and St Joseph's.

"Everyone who entered should be proud of their work and we hope they continue with their art and enjoy what they are doing."

There were 15 awards made during the evening with first second and third places going to Primaries 4, 5, 6 and 7 and also three merit awards made to Primaries 4, 6 and 7 such was the quality of the entries.

The theme for this year was 'My Favourite Animal' and the imagination shown by the youngsters was quite stunning.
