THE event planned to raise money to bring mining artefacts to Lochore Meadows Country Park has had to be cancelled.
Charity cyclist, Magali Christie, had planned planned to undertake a sponsored cycle to Oignies, in France, which is geared to raise £10,000 for the Save the Cage project.
Like Benarty, Oignies is a former mining community, but French lady Magali contacted us this week to let people know her circumstances have forced her to cancel the plans.
She said: "I have had to cancel my cycling trip from Benarty to France due to personal reasons.
"I'm focusing all my energy for myself and my son just now, it's been a painful decision but necessary." Magali was hoping to bring the two communities closer together by the event.
