CARDENDEN'S highly successful Tots 2 Teens Togs voluntary organisation, which sees the recycling of children's clothing, had another major boost on Wednesday when 100+ items were recirculated at an event held in the village Co-op shop.

Said Tots 2 Teens' Vi Penman: "We had a very successful day with over 100 articles of clothing being passed on to members of the community.

"The Co-op also held a raffle on behalf of T2TT with the the prize being a bistro set and this was won by Leanne Gilfillan.

"The money raised was £267, so a big thanks to the Co-op and everyone who supported it.

"The staff in the shop deserve, being thanked as well for all their help and the cups of tea they made for us."

And Vi had a special mention for Cardenden Co-op manager Margaret Somerville (Wilson) who has helped to support numerous charities in the village over the years and with staff dressing up in the store for special occasions making it a fun place to go to. All the things she has been the heart of.

"Margaret is moving on to another job soon and wanted T2TT to be her final charity community act. What can we say except amazing? Well done Margaret".

Concluded Vi: "Another GREAT thing that has happened to us this year has been the support from the Co-op Community Fund.

"We have received a payment from them for £483 so far with another payment to be paid later on in the year....we cannot thank them enough."

T2TT has proved to be a highly successful organisation over the past three years with good quality kids' clothes that are no longer used by one family finding new useful homes and their ventures before the start of the school year in August has helped many families get the right sort of school clothes at the right time.
