COWDENBEATH is the latest local area to be part of the Coalfields Regeneration Trust's Futures programme.

Cardenden, Kelty, Benarty, Kinglassie, Lumphinnans and Crossgates have all benefitted from the initiative which sees communities get a participatory fund to tap into to make improvements occur in a community.

The Futures programme has been developing in the town and the official launch of the Action Plan is set to take place on Thursday May 30 at a meeting being held at 6.30pm in the Maxwell Centre.

Caron Hughes, on behalf of the Cowdenbeath Community Futures Group, said: "The Futures Steering Group are launching their community led action plan on May 30 and we hope that a good number of people will come along to her what the Action Plan contains.

"There are a number of interesting projects and go along and see how you can get involved in taking the Action Plan forward and hear from the groups that have received funding".
