THE Ladies Day held by Cowdenbeath Rotary Club has proved another success for their charities fund.

The venue was different this year as their venue over the past few years, the Glen Pavilion in Dunfermline, had been double booked but Hill of Beath Ex-Servicemen's Club turned into a fine replacement.

Over 200 people turned up at the event organised by the club's fundraiser extraordinaire, Marie Shevas.

Club treasurer, Dennis Brooks, who was looking after the ins and outs of the event said that so far the profit stood at but there were still some outstanding bills to be paid while there was some auction payments still to come in.

He added: "It was a very successful day with everyone having a great time and making a huge contribution to our charities account."

There was a day of fun and the chance to win prizes in a huge raffle and also the draw was made for a shopping trip to New York.

Marie was delighted that Hill of Beath Club was able to cater for the event and said: "It was excellent they way they were able to to fit us in and it worked brilliantly.

"A great day and we would like to thank everyone who attended and those who sponsored the various events we had and our auction lots and holiday prize."
