WITH their 2019 show Evita only a few weeks away the cast of Lochgelly and District Amateur Musical Association got a big boost with a letter from music Impresario Andrew Lloyd Webber.
Mr Webber became aware of LADAMA's production of one of his most famous musicals, through a member of one of the orchestra of last year's show Wizard of Oz.
He said in his letter: "To the cast, crew and musicians of LADAMA perfoming 'Evita,' with all good wishes for a wonderful opening night on 29th May and an enjoyable and successful run. Enjoy yourselves! Yours sincerely Andrew Lloyd Webber".
Lochgelly Musical president Bill Paul was stunned when the letter arrived: "We didn't think for a minute that Andrew Lloyd Webber would have any idea that we were putting on the show, but one of our former orchestra members had been in London and had made a chance comment about it and Mr Webber went out of his way to wish us good luck with our 2019 production.
"It has been a real tonic for the cast as they prepare for their opening night."
Evita is a musical with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics and book by Tim Rice and was first staged in June 1978.
