THE chairman of Lochore Old People's Welfare Council has urged people to sign the the petition backing the 'Save The Over 75 TV Licence' campaign.
Joe Paterson stressed that this is an important campaign and he had seen several hundred names on petitions placed in the Benarty area.
However, he wanted more signatures: "For many older people the TV is their window on the world but it is under threat.
"The BBC is considering removing free TV licences for the over 75s but it is the Government's doing. That is why we are demanding the Government takes back responsibility for funding TV licences for everyone over 75."
If you want to sign the petition these are in various outlets in Benarty or call Joe on 01592 860872.
