WITH the Four Seasons Healthcare Group up for sale local MSP Annabelle Ewing is pressing for assurances from either the administrators involved, or the Group, that the terms and conditions of the residents will be a condition of any sale.

It was announced on Tuesday that the Four Seasons, who run the Benarty View Care Home in Rowan Lea, Kelty, was on the market.

Annabelle Ewing MSP, Member of the Scottish Parliament for the Cowdenbeath constituency, responded to the news that the Four Seasons Health Care Group, which owns two care homes in her constituency, is for sale following its holding companies entering administration.

Speaking yesterday afternoon, Ms Ewing said: “Obviously, this will be a worrying time for staff, residents and families of both Benarty View, in Kelty and Henderson House Care Home, in Dalgety Bay, as well as those connected to the other care homes run by the Four Seasons group.

“According to the information provided on the Four Seasons website, there is no immediate cause for concern about changes to the way in which the homes are being run and I think it is important to get that information out".

Ms Ewing added: “However, those assurances are only worth anything up until the point when the business is sold.

"I would like to see Four Seasons – or the administrators of the holding companies - make it clear that continuation of the terms and conditions of staff and residents will be a condition of any sale.

“The number one priority in all of this must be the health and wellbeing of residents.”

A statement put out by the company said: "Today's news does not change the way we operate or how our homes are run or prompt any change for residents, families, employees and indeed suppliers.

"It marks the latest stage in the group's restructuring process and allows us to move ahead with an orderly, independent sales process."
